2020 is moving so fast. A lot of things have happened this year and I want us all to be thankful for life. This month has been one of growth, a period of sowing seeds that will be reaped in years to come. Side note: Remember that there are seasons for everything, make sure you are building and creating value, the seasons of harvest are coming. In this post, I want to share with you three lessons from July:

The Art of Being Present

The art of being present is almost lost on us in this generation. We are always trying to multitask, juggling so many things at the same time. I am trying each day to slow down, I am learning the importance of planning and not having too much on my plate so that I can focus on what really matters. I’m finding the elegance is simplicity. Life is lived through the moments in our day but sometimes we forget to be fully present, enjoying the moments as they come along. It is the process of learning to find and listen to the rhythm of life.

Protect your mind

You have to protect your mind, if not you won’t be functioning at your optimum level of productivity. You have to learn to check your input. What are you allowing into your space? The artist that wants to be creative must first be silent. Don’t allow toxins affect your mind. Your mind is really important. Fill your mind with thoughts that are good and pure. If something is bothering you, pray and release it so that you can allow yourself to work effectively.

Focus on your own Journey

It is just so beautiful how focusing on the right things can change your perspective so much. Learn to position your mind to focus and develop the right mindset and skillsets for your own mission. You find out that you are no longer comparing yourself because you realize the journey that you are on. You now realize how unique your own journey is and that in itself is mind-shifting.

So these are my three lessons from July. The end of the month is a good time to review your goals, check where you have been slacking and make a promise to hold yourself accountable. I pray that the month of August brings us the blessings that have our names on it.
